FGASA is looking for a Marketing & Communications Officer to join our team from 15 February 2026.

Job Brief

FGASA, a voluntary Professional Body for Guides and Trackers in Southern Africa, is seeking a Marketing & Communications Officer to lead the association’s communications and public-facing messaging.

This role ensures clear, accurate, and consistent communication with FGASA members, industry stakeholders, media, and partners, while strengthening FGASA’s brand, credibility, and professional standing within the tourism and conservation sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement FGASA’s communications and marketing plans aligned with organisational and industry priorities
  • Create, edit, and distribute member communications including newsletters, circulars, announcements, and industry updates
  • Manage all communication channels (website, email, social media, WhatsApp) to ensure consistent, professional messaging
  • Produce and manage daily social media content and engagement
  • Maintain and update the FGASA website with accurate, current information
  • Draft press releases and support media liaison to amplify FGASA’s voice within the industry
  • Ensure brand consistency, tone, and integrity across all communication platforms
  • Monitor tourism, guiding, and conservation industry developments and communicate relevant information to members
  • Support internal communications to ensure FGASA members, partners, and stakeholders are well informed
  • Liaise with delivery partners, assessors, mentors, corporate members, and regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate communications and media for FGASA initiatives, including Safari Guide of the Year
  • Assist with organising FGASA CPD opportunities, events, meetings, webinars, and industry engagements
  • Support member and stakeholder communication via FGASA’s WhatsApp platforms
  • Travel when required for events, trade shows, schools, and career days

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified and skilled in digital marketing, content creation and copywriting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in communications, marketing, media, or stakeholder engagement
  • Confidence managing digital platforms, social media, and website content
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, member-focused messaging
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Interest or experience in tourism, guiding, conservation, or professional associations (advantageous)
  • Comfortable engaging with industry bodies, media, and regulatory stakeholders
