Join us for our next info session on 13 August!

The Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) is excited to announce a series of six online information sessions, starting this July, aimed at unpacking FGASA’s role as the Professional Body for Field Guides and Trackers.

These monthly sessions will provide clarity on what it means to be part of a professional body, the value of professional designations, and how FGASA supports guides throughout their careers. Each session will cover key questions such as:

  • What is a professional body?
  • What is a professional designation and why does it matter?
  • Why is FGASA membership important for your credibility and career growth?
  • How does FGASA support guides with development, recognition, and opportunities?

Whether you’re a student, active guide, trainer, assessor, or simply interested in understanding FGASA’s evolving role in the guiding sector—these sessions are open and free to all.

The first four confirmed dates are:
📅 16 July
📅 13 August
📅 17 September
📅 15 October
(Additional dates for future months will be finalised soon.)

To attend, please RSVP to marketing@fgasa.org.za. A link to join the session will be emailed to all confirmed participants a few days prior to the event.

Join us for these insightful sessions as we continue to professionalise and elevate the field guiding and tracking profession across Southern Africa.
