Junior Membership

After careful consideration and in response to hundreds of requests from parents and children alike, FGASA has decided to introduce a junior membership.

The categories have been divided into two age groups 8-12 years Pangolin and 13-17 Wild Dog. The motivation behind this decision is to provide young nature enthusiasts, such as yourself, with the opportunity to learn more about the environment and to prepare you for a possible future in guiding or conservation, if you so choose.

This is an introductory level for you, covering certain aspects of the Bushveld, River and Desert environments all combined in a beautiful book.

Once the workbooks have been completed and a mark of 85% has been attained a certificate will be issued to you for these particular adventures. Once you have completed these workbooks you may apply for any of the Pangolin specialist workbooks available, birds, insects or reptiles.

A certificate will be issued after each adventure has been completed and a mark of 85% achieved. These are open book assignments with no deadlines so you may work at your own pace and really enjoy your adventures, learning as much as you can along the way.

If you are between 8 to 12 years of age, please download the Pangolin application form

Once you turn 13 you may then move onto the Wild Dog category, here we explore all that you have covered before but more indepth, discovering more about the animals and the environments that we all live in. Again the workbooks and assignments are open book, so a mark of 85% needs to be obtained in order to pass. Once you have completed the Nature certificate you may then apply for the specialist workbooks that are available for the Wild Dog.

If you are between 13 - 17 years of age, please download and complete the Wilddog application form
