FGASA mourns the loss of one of our shining guides, John Ditsele, fondly known as John D, who passed away on Friday 9 January 2026.
John D was a longstanding and respected FGASA member who served the Association as a Regional Representative in Madikwe. His guiding career with FGASA spanned over 22 years from receiving his first guiding certification in 2003. He made a meaningful contribution to the guiding community through his dedication to professional standards, his willingness to support fellow guides, and his commitment to growing and strengthening the guiding profession.
His passion for guiding, quiet leadership, and generosity of knowledge left a lasting impression on colleagues and communities alike. John D was a true role model whose influence extended well beyond his immediate place of work.
He was a guiding light within the Malori family and the wider Madikwe community, where he was deeply valued and will be profoundly missed.
FGASA extends its sincere condolences to John D’s family, friends, colleagues, and all who are grieving his loss.
