This regional representative (Chairman) will then be appointed as a member of the FGASA Executive Committee to represent that region (area).
The role and responsibilities of the Regional representative (Chairman)
The role of the regional representative who sits on the FGASA Executive Committee is first and foremost to represent the members from his/her particular region (area). The regional representative brings to the table at the Executive Committee meetings any matters arising from the members within his/her region. Such matters may be around issues that concern the members of the region may have, requests, positive criticism, ideas, complaints, proposals, or of a general inquiry pertaining to the Association and the Tourism guiding industry.
The regional representative (Chairman) arranges regional meetings in order to get input from the members of the region (area) and to provide feedback to the members from the FGASA Executive committee meetings. The regional representative provides information to the members of his/her region (area) from the Directors and the members of the Executive Committee to ensure that the members are kept up to date with accurate information pertaining to the Association and the Tourism guiding industry.
The roles and responsibilities of the regional work group members
The regional work group members are the “go between” the regional representative and the members within the particular region. Not all members within a region may be able to attend the regional meetings due to the nature of the industry, so it is hoped that the regional work group members can help to disseminate information to all the members in the region.
